For nearly 23 years, Beth Acors has devoted her career to Coca-Cola Consolidated. From starting out in manufacturing to transitioning to recruitment and then employee relations and HR, she has consistently grown as a person, a colleague, and a Teammate. Over the course of her time at Coke Consolidated, Beth has been a part of multiple opportunities that have led to her being dedicated to the Mid-Atlantic Market Unit of Coke Consolidated.

Beth worked in her hometown at Citizen & Farmers Bank in West Point, Virginia as an executive assistant. From there, she wanted to branch out of her small-town environment, leading her to a more than two-decade chapter at Coke Consolidated.  In May of 2001, Beth refreshed her career when she started working at Coca-Cola Enterprises in Sandston, Virginia. During her time at the Coke Consolidated Sandston manufacturing facility, she went to Averett University for her undergraduate schooling, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

She gained a keen interest in human resources. “I fell in love with some of the HR courses I took in college and told the recruiter at the time that I’d love to have the opportunity to get into that space,” Beth recalls. Following her joy for the human resources part of business, she received her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification in 2008.

Beth says there are two key terms that resonate with her: loyalty and longevity. For her, curiosity set the stage for her upcoming roles. “I think it’s just my work ethic, because prior to coming to Coca-Cola, I was with a small bank for five years and left my small hometown realizing I needed to get outside those town limits to really grow,” says Beth. Her loyalty to Coke Consolidated has led her to six opportunities within HR throughout the organization, all leading to her growth. “I love my team; I love the people, and I don’t want to leave.”

Beth began her Coca-Cola system career as an administrative assistant and field recruiter for nine consecutive years. After working for Coca-Cola Enterprises for nearly a decade, she shifted her career at Coca-Cola Refreshments, as a senior recruiter. In April 2016, she transitioned to Coca-Cola Consolidated and continued her career in talent acquisition.  In 2018, she was promoted to an Employee Relations Business Partner. Now at the height of her career, she is a Senior HR Business Partnerfor the Mid-Atlantic Market Unit, East Regional Sales Area supporting Sales Operations and Equipment Services.

Beth has accomplished so much throughout her career.

Her enjoyment for HR has specifically drawn her to helping others grow. In retrospect, the process of transitioning from a small-town bank to a company of 17,000 Teammates was full of complexity, but for Beth, all she needed was one spark to keep going – mentorship. She discusses the meaning of having a mentor – that one person or group that believed in her. At the beginning of her journey, finding a companion afforded her an expanded network. She was lucky to have a mentor like retired Coke Consolidated Teammate Laurie Rydel.

Beth explains the connection between mentorship and career advancement at Coke Consolidated. “They have provided great advancement opportunities. As positions became available in the areas I was interested in, I applied and made leaders aware of my interest.”

Beth raves about how many professional development courses and opportunities are available at Coke Consolidated.

“For me, I wanted to prove that I really wanted to grow within the organization. I think the challenge was getting to that next level of development for myself…taking additional classes and courses needed and then just being able to put myself out there,” she continues.

Coming up on year 24 of her career, Beth has encountered a variety of blessings at Coke Consolidated. The support she received had the biggest impact.

“I really learned a lot in my journey with the Company, and I don’t think I would change that for the world.” Beth says, “One of the top moments here was being nominated and asked to be a part of the next level leadership program. They are helping me reach the next level in my career and support my growth within the organization.”

In addition, the overwhelming amount of joy and support she receives from her Teammates could not be shrunk into one moment. During her professional career, Beth has gained trust and mental sustenance from her peers to assist her in this newfound achievement.

A career filled with love, nourishment and fearlessness, Beth has shown the Coke Consolidated world who she is through her genuine work ethic and high-level inquisitiveness. She insightfully explains how one should not be doubted at an early age. Upon examining her younger self, present Beth knows what she would tell herself: “Stay determined, fierce and loyal. You are strong. Just be fearless.”
