Coca-Cola Consolidated’s commitment to growth and success is evident in the stories of many Teammates, including the inspiring journey of two brothers, Frank and Johan Booc.

With a significant age gap between them, older brother Johan grew up in the Philippines where Coca-Cola was seen as a special treat for certain occasions. For him, enjoying a Coke was reserved for birthdays or major accomplishments, symbolizing something rare and cherished.

Frank, on the other hand, was born and raised in the U.S. and had access to opportunities that Johan didn’t have. When Johan first learned that his younger brother had secured a job at Coca-Cola Consolidated, it was a moment of pride not only for him but for their entire family.

“I remember being so proud when Frank got his job at Coca-Cola Consolidated,” Johan shared. “Growing up in the Philippines, Coke was a symbol of something big. It was a special drink that not everyone had every day, and my brother was hired to work for the company who bottled it.”

Despite their different upbringings, Frank’s admiration for his brother has always been steadfast. “Johan has always inspired me to be the best version of myself,” Frank said. “He has always believed in me, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful.”

When Frank was hired at Coca-Cola Consolidated nearly 10 years ago, he began his journey as a Bottler Sensory Lead. His progression has been nothing short of impressive, having worked his way up to become a Production Scheduler for the Silver Spring, MD, and Sandston, VA locations.

For Johan, the call to work for Coca-Cola Consolidated came after he decided to move to the Carolinas to be closer to Frank. Though, after coming to the U.S. at the age of 17, he worked in manufacturing for more than 20 years, once he moved, Johan began applying for various open positions with the company.

In 2024, Johan was hired in a supervisor position at Coca-Cola Consolidated and was quickly promoted to Manufacturing Shift Manager. “To see Johan in a managerial role at Coca-Cola Consolidated is a huge accomplishment,” Frank reflected. “It’s inspiring to see him achieve so much despite the challenges he faced growing up.”

Since Johan joined Frank at Coca-Cola Consolidated their bond has deepened. “We’ve always had a close bond, but now it’s even stronger,” Frank said. “We don’t just work together, we support each other. Johan is always there for me, and I’m there for him.”

The synergy between the two brothers has not gone unnoticed by fellow Teammate Adam David, Production Director for Coca-Cola Consolidated. “What stands out most about Frank and Johan is their intelligence and how much they genuinely care about people,” Adam remarked. “Frank picked up a very challenging role quickly, and Johan was promoted to Shift Manager within months because of his dedication to the job and his team.”

Adam also observed how Frank and Johan use each other as sounding boards to tackle challenges. “They help each other by providing different perspectives. It’s great for the business, and it shows how much they support one another,” he added.

For both Frank and Johan, their passion for Coca-Cola Consolidated is fueled by more than just the products they bottle—it’s the company’s values and purpose that truly resonate with them. “After reading Coca-Cola Consolidated’s Purpose Statement, I knew this was where I wanted to be,” said Johan.

Now, with both brothers thriving at Coca-Cola Consolidated, the company has become more than just a workplace—it’s a place of growth, support and family pride. Johan, who hopes to retire from the company, described how the experience has transformed his life. “I’ve learned so much here. It’s amazing knowing that my leaders believe in me and want me to succeed,” he said.

The bond between Frank and Johan is a testament to the power of family, hard work, and the belief that no matter where you start, success is within reach. Through their experiences at Coca-Cola Consolidated, they’ve not only built successful careers but also a legacy of support, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to each other and the company.

As Adam summed up, “Having two brothers who’ve taken very different paths and ended up at the same company is unique, and we’re lucky to have them here. Their dedication and passion for the work they do are truly remarkable.”
