Upon graduating from high school, Christopher Glenn sought more than just employment – he was interested in a meaningful career offering defined opportunities for growth, learning and advancement. By participating in Coca-Cola Consolidated’s apprenticeship program, he discovered an environment dedicated to maximizing each team member’s potential, where individuals are developed, supported, rewarded and empowered.

Christopher joined the Company through its apprenticeship program in partnership with Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), which combines classroom instruction with paid, hands-on training. While completing coursework toward certification, he worked directly in Coca-Cola Consolidated’s production facility in Charlotte, building real-world experience as a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician.

“The program gave me the opportunity to apply what I was learning in a real work environment,” Christopher shares. “I was gaining hands-on experience while earning income and supporting myself and my family.”

Throughout the apprenticeship, he strengthened his problem-solving skills, technical expertise and ability to collaborate with Teammates.  Just as important, he experienced support from his leaders.

“Every day is continued growth and opportunity,” he says. “There’s always a step above where you currently are to strive for. And I definitely feel supported. There’s an ‘I have your back’ mindset from Teammates every day.”

After completing one of the program’s most technically intensive pathways, Christopher transitioned into a full-time Manufacturing Mechanic I role with Coca-Cola Consolidated. His feedback even helped refine the curriculum for future apprentices. Today, he plans to continue advancing along the technician career track.

Christopher’s journey reflects the broader impact of Coca-Cola Consolidated’s apprenticeship program with CPCC. Launched in 2023 to proactively address a skilled trades gap, the program  builds a community-based pipeline for technician talent and reinforces a commitment to developing Teammates. Since its launch, four apprentices have graduated, four are currently enrolled and seven more will join this summer, positioning Charlotte as a model to scale across Coca-Cola Consolidated’s territory.

For Christopher, the impact has been clear.

“Participating in the program had a direct and lasting impact on my career,” he says. “Because I was learning while actively working, I gained knowledge that prepared me for greater responsibilities and long-term growth.”

Through these apprenticeship opportunities, Coca-Cola Consolidated isn’t just filling roles —it’s building futures. Coca-Cola Consolidated is committed to being a learning organization that encourages continuous development and advancement.
