This Earth Month, Coca-Cola Consolidated celebrated the sustainability efforts and collaborations with our partners across our 14-state territory.
These efforts supported our commitment to our three pillars of sustainability: Package Recycling, Climate Protection and Water Leadership.
Coca-Cola Consolidated Teammates Volunteer at Sheffield Park in Charlotte, N.C.
Tree planting – 40 Coca-Cola Consolidated Teammates joined TreesCharlotte staff and volunteers, along with Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreations staff to plant 28 trees in Sheffield Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. The tree plantings were the final step in a renovation of the park, which is enjoyed by community members and school children from the surrounding area. The new trees will help reduce carbon from the atmosphere, provide shade and shelter for animals and humans, and help with improving water quality in the area.
Coca-Cola Consolidated Teammates “Clean the Queen” in Charlotte, N.C.
Clean The Queen – In collaboration with the Innovation Barn and the City of Charlotte, 30 Coca-Cola Consolidated Teammates collected 26 bags of trash and recyclables from approximately 2.5 miles of roadways and neighborhood streets. This annual effort helps keep Charlotte clean and reduces the amount of litter that can be washed into the waterways.
Coca-Cola Consolidated Brings Recycling Bins to Indiana University Campus
Eclipse viewing at Indiana University – Over 350 recycling bins were placed across the Indiana University campus to make it easy for more than 80,000 students, staff and visitors experiencing the 2024 total eclipse to recycle. Recycling bottles and cans helps create a circular economy where our packaging becomes new bottles and cans.
Go Green Night at Washington Capitals One – In a joint effort with the Washington Capitals ice hockey team, over 40 community volunteers and Coca-Cola Consolidated Teammates hosted the Caps Go Green Game. Volunteers helped educate fans on proper recycling and cleaned the bowl seating area after the game. Food waste was also collected and sent to a local composting facility. More than 500 pounds of cans and bottles were collected for recycling, and 500 pounds of food were diverted away from the landfill. Reducing the amount of food and other waste sent to the landfill helps reduce carbon emissions released by landfills, and recycling assists in the recovery of our packaging.
Coca-Cola Consolidated Provides Recycling Bins at Nashville SC Game
Nashville SC – Coca-Cola Consolidated conducted a Recycling Valuation Assessment (RVA) with the Nashville Soccer Club. An RVA assesses the recycling program currently in place and makes recommendations on ways to improve it. In addition, Coca-Cola Consolidated partnered with the soccer team in celebration of their Green Game and Teammates gave prizes to fans who were caught recycling.

RBC Heritage Golf Tournament – Nearly 200 recycling containers were placed throughout the site of the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament offering visitors a chance to recycle their bottles and cans. Those collected were sent to a local recycler to be made into new bottles and cans. Coca-Cola Consolidated and RBC Heritage Teammates then hosted students from the local Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island to learn about sustainability and providing the opportunity to shadow professionals across the career spectrum, including tournament operations, sustainability, sports marketing, local government, and public relations.
